Picked up this stunning jug in TK Max, it's just a jug I know, but it's not, it's so much more. let me explain
See I'm a sucker for shapes, and good design, and this simple ol white Jug is just perfect blend of curves and lines, it makes you want to touch it, to trace those curves. Enough that I parted with a tenner and it'll sit there collecting dust.
That is until every now and again I can remind myself how a simple line can mean so much to composition or design, making something tangible or playful beyond function is the purpose of design and therefore, I guess art for me as well. So today I brought a piece of art to adorn my dresser, It wont be the first or last time I do this, I left ikea with a lamp i didnt need as I was seduced by the lines so much, and a bird cage out of wood about 15inchs tall was another purchase.
Of course they all make great props, thats what I tell myself, and I have used the birdcage alot for that very reason. if something catches your eye, its damn well gotta be worth using in a piece of work, if it motivates you that much, then it has to help with the story telling..
