Last weekend we put a call out for someone intrested in shooting in the parachute dress, when we had a response from a ballet dancer we were suprised and excited.

The potential for Krystal to create such powerfull and yet gracefull poses while wearing the vibrant untamed dress left us needing a location that would compliment and provide a real stage for the performance. A quick mapping of the area provided us with the perfect potentail, Mewslade Bay on the Gower is a tough environent battered by the sea yet a stunning little bay untouched from the tourist trap of candy floss and safety rails.

The weather was cold with a hard wind battering the coast and the tide was still receding when we arrived, thankfully the dress fitted perfectly so we fired up Godox ad360 a powerful and portable 360w flash light and prepared to shoot battling the changeable conditions.

krystal needed no direction, attracted to the idea of shooting with such a striking dress she is a natural infront of the camera, of course being such a talented athlete she was able to create such beautiful poses, mixing beauty, grace, pure strength and control.

As the tide made its way off the beach we chased our way around the coast for 3 hours playing in the caves and untouched beachs, the results are as we had hoped striking and vibrant, the landscape rugged and the poses incredible. The combo of shooting the d600 with nikon 24-120  and the d700 with a old 18mm gave flexability and saved us from changing lens in the sandy enviroment, while the little Godox provided a pleasent pop of light in high speed sync mode to help seperate and contour Krystal and tame the bright sky.

Returning home we had so many images to choose from, and we still havent shortlisted our top ten, despite culling over 350 shots down to 70 odd. Editing wont take long, the images are just perfect straight out of camera, except cloning the odd stray light peeking into frame.

A really great day, and we hope to shoot with Krystal again soon. Watch our instagram and facebook pages for images as we get them finished.
